ORIGIN & FUNCTIONS


COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR

The County Administrator oversees the daily operations of executive departments within County government. Assisted by the Department of Financial Services, the Administrator also prepares and presents the County’s annual budget to the Board of County Commissioners (County Code, Title III, sec. 30.06).

Appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, the County Administrator serves as clerk to the Board, manages the Board's public meeting agenda, and maintains records of Board meetings.

DEPARTMENT OF FINANCIAL SERVICES
As the central office for all County government fiscal matters, the Department of Financial Services coordinates revenue and debt matters for the County, and directs fiscal programs and procedures required for the County budget.

The Department oversees the Finance Office, and the Office of Tax Collection.

OFFICE OF HUMAN RESOURCES
County personnel matters are administered by the Office of Human Resources. Duties of the Office include oversight of employee relations, benefits, compensation, and maintenance of personnel files.

DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
The Department of Information Technology seeks to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of County operations by improving the County’s digital infrastructure. To this end, the Department supports the hardware and software needs of County offices, and develops programs and procedures allowing easy public access to government information.
